I know, I know… red is the typical ‘holiday’ color and it may be cliche but I just can’t get enough of it. I am definitely feeling the holiday spirit (especially in New York) since every corner of the city is covered in the most gorgeous Christmas lights, sparkles, garlands, and wreaths. Lately, I have been gravitating towards red whether it be in a blouse, bag, or even lipstick. I have always said that a pop of color goes a long way, and that is exactly the case when it comes to red. It has to be done just right or else it is borderline overkill… stick with it in one or two pieces of the look and make sure everything else is kept neutral.
Here I paired it with my new favorite Joie knee boots… if you don’t own a pair, I highly recommend investing. These are on sale right now and the fit just grazes the leg so they work well over jeans, tights, or leggings. It was a bit milder in New York so I didn’t need a full blown coat… perfect opportunity to throw on my Joie Mohair sweater, another piece on sale right now! Did I mention, I love a good sale?! Lastly, can we talk about this scarf? Obsessed. I recently got this as a gift from a dear friend for my birthday so basically that means… I haven’t taken it off! It is the ideal blanket scarf for those cold days and layers just right over any sweater or blouse. Did I mention, it is also on sale 🙂
