Happy Friday! I have been a little bit MIA the past few weeks as I have been SO busy and it has been so cold in New York it is so difficult to shoot outdoors. Luckily, we shot this inside and I absolutely love the white backdrop.
I have had my hands on this vintage royal blue fur sweater for a long time…. I stole it from my mom’s closet (which I tend to do very often ha!) and I have never returned it. It has an old Saks Fifth Avenue label in it and I know that this is the type of vintage piece that is really a once in a lifetime find. Between the color, the fur, the vintage jeweled clasps to close it, not quite sure what the best part is. I kept it really simple with a white tank and jeans as this sweater definitely says a lot.
I have to admit, I absolutely love this post for one reason, my boyfriend Jason finally made a special appearance! I thought it would be fun to mix it up and talk about men’s dressing. I know that a lot of girls probably help their boyfriends get ready and I have to admit, mine happens to have the best style — he rarely needs assistance. One staple item in his closet is this Rag and Bone Shawl Collar Sweater – he has it in a few colors and it has completely taken him through the entire season. This is essentially the perfect weekend outfit, comfortable and easy (a nice change from a suit all week!) Usually he throws on his tweed overcoat but we let it sit on the side for these shots. Lastly, John Varvatos boots – they are expensive, but worth every penny. They embody the word cool. They tie the entire outfit together and my suggestion would be pick a color OTHER than black as it is a bit harsh. I tend to go for a taupe and/or brown color on a guy as it blends well with grey, navy, or black and is not as heavy on the foot. One accessory I think that a lot of men go without are scarves and what a mistake. A scarf is just as fashionable on a woman as it is on a man. I think that it layers the look perfectly and adds a bit of dimension.
Do you guys like hearing about men’s dressing? If so, I will definitely continue to write some more on this topic. Always welcome to hear comments!
Hope everybody has a great weekend. I am hosting a little Superbowl party at my house so I am excited about whipping up some fun treats. Keep checking my instagram all weekend @ariannablake for updates 🙂
Happy Weekend! x
