I am lucky enough to have a grandmother who happens to also be my best friend. On top of it all, she has the coolest archives and vintage pieces. Growing up I always spent countless hours rummaging through her closet and putting on my own little fashion shows.
I got my hands on this incredible fur jacket a while back and couldn’t wait for it to be cold enough to shoot it. This jacket is truly one of a kind — from the satin lining to the way the fur fabric creates a stripe effect to the interesting sewed edges, it is something I will hold onto forever. I also love how the honey color works with absolutely anything — it is really the ideal vintage fur piece to start a collection with.
As I am sure everybody has told you, but they are not lying! It is absolutely freezing in New York and it remains unbearable to walk outside without layering up. I find a coat is a statement piece and makes my outfit so when the temps drop, I tend to shoot WITH my coat on! Especially when it is a vintage fur jacket… definitely not taking it off. I paired this fur with a neutral palette and kept it all pretty basic with an easy chambray shirt, hunter green Theysken’s chunky knit and black skinny jeans.
Stay warm! x
