Where to even begin – It has been a while since I’ve been on here and I am filled with tons of emotions as I write this. If you have been following along for some time you probably know I’ve been blogging while working full time in NYC. For about two years it has been incredible having this creative outlet to run to after a busy day. I’m sure everyone doesn’t realize the amount of time, work, love, and energy that goes into creating a ‘side hustle/passion project/blog,etc…’ but let me tell you — IT TAKES A LOT OF WORK!!!! Some nights writing posts are exhausting after a long day of work, finding time on the weekends to shoot content is always a challenge when the weekends are your only days off…. trust me, it is not easy. I’ve worked so hard to build the following I do have and I am so proud of how far I’ve come. With that being said, finding a way to differentiate myself and stand out amongst the crowd has been difficult. It started to feel like every blog just looked and felt the same. Everyones content was the same whether it was shot by one photographer, edited the same as someone else’s…. I even began to feel very monotonous and lost. I started this blog to differentiate myself and I started to lose focus on why I really wanted to do this.
On top of starting a new job in September (which always feels like the time of year for new beginnings….) I also went on my honeymoon and was just enjoying being a newlywed! Unfortunately, I started to have less and less time to focus on my blog. I think it is totally normal to take breaks (especially from social media) as it completely consumes your world and I can’t sit here and say it wasn’t nice not worrying all the time about what to post, where to shoot content, what outfit to style, etc. etc. Taking a nice break allowed me to refresh and reboot. I swore to myself in the New Year I was going to make this blog a priority again because I can’t just give up on something I’ve worked so hard at. I want to find a way to differentiate myself and I truly believe you can achieve and accomplish anything!!!! So with that…. my first post of 2018. I truly believe in signs and I posted a sneak to this look on my instagram and within 24 hours got re-posted by liketoknow.it (in my world, that was a sign that I have to keep on going!!!)
Sooooo for everyone who still follows along, THANK YOU!!!! I truly can’t express how much it means to me that you actually want to see what I wear, how I style my looks, what I do on an everyday basis and more. Please keep on following I’m planning some exciting new features for 2018!
