For months I have been dreaming up Blake and Gold… trying to come up with the best way to get my point across, display my opinions, viewpoints, and ultimately help inspire all of my readers. Putting together a look to shoot for the main launch meant the photos had to represent me… this proves to be a very challenging task. I find my style evolves every day depending on my mood. One thing I have always stayed true to is mixing higher priced fashion with more reasonably priced trend driven items.
When creating the look to shoot for my launch I knew I wanted to incorporate a few of my favorite things. I have always had a love for everything sparkly, gold, with sequins, you know the drill… so I could not think of anything that epitomize’s me more than a vintage gold sequin cardigan. The next item on my agenda was accessorizing… in my opinion, accessories are a game changer. They make an outfit something completely different than you ever envisioned.
Like I said, the next step was accessorizing. I know I am piling on the gold here and taking it to another level… but that is what fashion is all about. I am a firm believer in dressing everyday in whatever you are most comfortable in. Whether this mean more is more or less is more… I believe that is a personal preference.
Last step was finding the perfect setting to shoot against. What is more gorgeous than the New York City Skyline? A place I am lucky to call my home. I took a trip to DUMBO to capture the most breathtaking photos on the most gorgeous day. I feel this backdrop truly embodies who I am… a twenty something year old New Yorker looking to inspire and connect with my readers through my personal blog, Blake and Gold.
