Dressing for the weekend is always so tough when its bitter cold and the snow has gotten dirty in the city, slush everywhere… you know the drill. I always set aside a few pairs of shoes that are OK to wear out on a Friday or Saturday night (typically something that is not of the highest price point, thank you Zara.) I wanted to put together a look that can easily take you out at night (and all over town if you are bouncing from place to place) but also keep you warm and fashionable. Faux Fur would be my #1 go-to when it comes to dressing up an outfit and swapping out your everyday coat. It is priced so well and when you find a really good piece, it looks just like real fur. A simple blouse (I love Equipment because of all their amazing prints and patterns) elevates your look and also gives you sleeve coverage if it is beyond cold out. I am a huge fan of classic pieces and the best part is, you can easily wear any Equipment top from day to night. Some are even a little bit more ‘evening appropriate’ with beautiful lace detail, as seen here. Simple skinny jeans and you are ready to go! In my eyes, the key to dressing for the winter weather is to keep it simple, wear some sleeves, and faux fur is a must! x A
