You know when you find something that you know is going to be a ‘life’ piece? Something that will always be special, novel, and ultimately hold a place in your wardrobe forever? Well… that is exactly how I feel about this jacket. Where to begin? The feathers, the simplicity of the black blazer, the structure, the length… the list carries on. There is something whimsical and fun when it comes to feathers. The way they fall and lay as you move gives them dimension and ultimately adds some personality to a look.
I paired my Elizabeth and James blazer with a very comfortable Joie grey tee shirt to dress it down and balance out the ‘over the top’ factor of the feathers. I wanted the blazer to do all the talking here… continuing to keep it basic with the faux leather Zara track shorts.
I know I know, you are looking at this blazer and thinking this is only suitable for going out, special occasions, parties, etc. I think this blazer can be worn countless ways… pair it with a cocktail dress, put it over jeans and a white tee shirt, wear it with leggings and a chunky sweater. The one piece of advice I would have is keep everything else pretty minimal in order to let the blazer shine.
