Leopard has been one of those prints that always stands the test of time. Whether it be in a top, blouse, dress, or even a pant – animal print as a whole has been something that crosses all boarders. For some reason, animal print is always ‘on trend.’ One of the biggest updates (in my opinion) to the typical ‘animal’ trend would be mixing animal prints and/or styling all over animal. Of course finding the right animal print is always crucial as some can look too young or too cheap.
When I first came across the Madeline Dress from the Eva Mendes Collection with NY & Co. I fell in love. On the hunt for a great Fall maxi, I spotted this piece and couldn’t resist. Typically, I can’t really wear a maxi dress without paying a visit to the tailor so I really crossed my fingers on this one. To my surprise, this dress fit in all the right places. I didn’t have to fix one thing!! The length was ideal, the entire shape of the dress fit perfectly, and the way it moved had me hooked. On top of the dress being full length and a lot of allover animal, the necktie was something that I instantly gravitated towards. Neckties are making a big comeback… not only for the Fall but well into Spring! Mark my words, everybody will be rocking a neck tie. I’ve always been a fan of this trend (maybe it’s because I love scarves so much!) Check out an earlier post where I styled an everyday bandana as a casual necktie. Perhaps this animal print maxi shows a more enhanced version of the necktie, but mark my words – they are coming back!
NY & Co. has always been one of those stores on my radar. They have such great buy now wear now pieces, (especially for all you working women!) that remain on trend but still classic. When I first found out Eva Mendes did a collaboration with NY & Co. I was kind of excited to see what it it was comprised of. I think my most favorite part of this collaboration is that every single piece is priced so well, and can be worn in so many different ways. Every piece speaks directly to the modern, feminine and chic woman.
Besides being obsessed with my maxi, I also fell in love with a few other pieces from the collection. Here are a few other favorites including this classic black dress with a little keyhole, this tweed sweater coat which would be perfect for the upcoming months, and of course this bow blouse since we all know I’m a fan of the necktie. I chose to style this look pretty minimally — the dress does all the talking so I kept my jewelry and accessories very simple. Although this dress could be worn with a great over the knee boot and chunky cardigan, I chose to style with my nude strappy sandals. What do you guys think!? x A
